The temperature in the vivarium during the time should be from 25-30C. The basking spot should have the temperature between 30-35C. During the night the temperature should not fall below 20-22C.
#2 How many baths per week?
Twice per week for healthy dragon is the optimal amount of baths. Especially if you feed properly the insects and your beardie eats plenty of greens. If however you notice he/she starts to lack hydration you can give the bath every day or every second day until he/she feels better.
#3 How to identify a sick Bearded Dragon?
You will know that something is wrong when your beardie will:
- Stop eat as normal.
- Loose weight.
- Have droopy eyes.
- Be more apathetic than usual.
- Stop pooping.
#4 How many crickets per day are enough?
As many he/she can eat within 10-15 minutes.
Once your beardie will loose interest to eat more remember to remove all uneaten insects from the vivarium.
#5 How will you know if your beardie likes you?
Once you gain your beardie’s trust and sympathy he/she will stop escaping you and will willingly get picked up or walk on you.
#6 How many hours should the light be on for?
As bearded dragons comes from Australian desert they are used to 12 hours daylight. It is also recommended to reduce it to 10 hours during the winter times but keep the heat mat on for that period.
#7 How can I treat my dragon?
Bearded dragon like variety of foods so to make them even more happy you can give them some different type of worms and food than usually:
- Wax worms
- Phoenix worms
- Pinkie mice
- Butter worms
- Cockroaches
- King worms
- Mealworms
- Phoenix worms
- Others
#8 Should I use sand as a substrate?
We do not recommend sand as a substrate as it can cause respiratory issues and when ingested be dead full for your pet.

#9 Does the tail grows back ?
Most of lizards loose their tails and it grows back. For bearded dragon it is not the case. If they injure the tail that part will never grow back (like Ragna‘s tail).
#10 Can I use the fish tank decor for the vivarium?
It is not recommended to use any plastic toys or decoration that could melt in higher temperature as the one in vivarium. Therefore most of the fish tank decoration will not be suitable for your beardie’s vivarium.
